Amanda Cannon , BA., MA

Amanda Cannon presently serves as a Program Coordinator and Professor within the Faculty of Social and Community Services at Durham College. She holds a Master's degree in Education and a Bachelor of Arts in Educational Studies and Digital Technology, with a specialization in Adult Education. In addition to her role at Durham College, Amanda is currently an instructor affiliated with The Association of Public-Safety Communications Officials (APCO) and a Mental Health First Aid Trainer accredited by the Mental Health Commission of Canada.

Drawing from her background as a 9-1-1 Communicator in Emergency Services, Amanda possesses a profound understanding of post-secondary education, having dedicated over a decade to her role as a Professor at Durham College.

 

Amanda actively employs principles of adult education, leveraging educational technologies to engage students effectively. Her approach fosters a positive learning environment that accommodates the diverse cultural and educational backgrounds, experiences, and individual learning styles of her students.
