For workplaces, we provide the option to purchase training for your employees in advance. We’ll supply registration codes, allowing participants to enrol at a time that works best for them, with no additional payment required.
Our courses are open to all, regardless of technical expertise. All you need is a working microphone and camera to participate in our interactive sessions.

Meet the Trainer
Amanda Cannon, BA., MA
Amanda Cannon is currently a Program Coordinator and Professor for the Faculty of Social & Community Services (SCS) at Durham College. She holds a Master of Education and a Bachelor of Arts in Educational Studies and Digital Technology, specializing in Adult Education. Amanda is also an Agency Instructor with The Association of Public-Safety Communications Officials (APCO), certified as a Public Safety Telecommunications Instructor, Fire Service Communications Instructor, and Emergency Medical Dispatch Instructor. Additionally, she is a Mental Health First Aid Trainer with the Mental Health Commission of Canada.
With a background in Emergency Services as a 9-1-1 Communicator, Amanda brings a wealth of practical experience to her role as an educator. She has been a dedicated Professor at Durham College for over 10 years, where she leverages her extensive knowledge to benefit her students.
Amanda is certified to teach Mental Health First Aid, The Working Mind (Workplace Mental Health and Wellness Training), and Mindfulness and Resilience training. She emphasizes the importance of mental health and wellness education, particularly for those in emergency services and helping professions. Her commitment to this area stems from her understanding of the high-stress nature of these roles and the critical need for effective mental health support and strategies to foster resilience. Amanda's training programs equip students and professionals with the skills and knowledge to maintain their mental well-being while performing their demanding duties.
In her teaching, Amanda utilizes principles of adult education to actively engage participants, employing educational technologies to support learning. She strives to create a positive learning environment that accommodates students' diverse cultural and educational backgrounds, experiences, and individual learning styles.
